“They desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.”  - Hebrews 11:16

Alma, Mary, Elaine, and Melba. Just this year, our church family has lost four of our missionaries we have supported for many years. It’s a sad time for us, and for their families and friends. Each of them were missionaries by name, but also by heart. It was their passion, whether paid or not. It was their lifelong desire, and they were involved in it right up until God called them home—even some of them in their 90’s.

What a great thing to be known for; serving God and sharing His gospel ALL your life. This is not reserved for missionaries alone. Any of us could be known for the same thing. And what a great goal to work toward.

I can imagine a reunion party going on in Heaven this very moment, as God’s faithful servants are welcomed home with a hug from their Savior, and they hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Let’s celebrate together.”  What could be more rewarding than to hear that from the very One you have spent years telling others about?

May our hearts beat with the same passion.
